Cleaning
Our partner will conduct a thorough analysis of the fabrics, laces, beads, and all material composition via advanced lab testing to develop a custom cleaning and treatment service for your gown. This ensures that nothing can get damaged in the process, and that even sweat stains are treated without risk of reappearing.
Mending
After wearing your gown, naturally there will be minor repairs required to restore it to it's original beauty. Light mending is conducted on your gown to give it that final touch before the gown is then meticulously packed in its preservation materials.
Preservation
The gown is packed with the finest archival acid-free materials available to conservators – the same materials used for rare museum costume. These materials resist water, mildew, protect your gown from light, insects, and changes in relative humidity. You are encouraged to open the box periodically because occasional air flow prevents gases, mold, mildew, and stale air from being trapped in its fibers.
